Only the corresponding special (soft) strings may be used on harps from Paraguay!
→ When using strings for Celtic, Classical or Lever Harps, not only the sound result absolutely unsatisfactory, but due to the much too strong string tension there is a high probability that the soundboard will burst and the Paraguayan Harp will be irreparably damaged!
The harp strings can be ordered SEPARATELY or in the following SETS:
1st octave, 2nd octave, 3rd octave, and bass strings (4th & 5th octaves together, with or without the low A1).
The Cristal strings for the upper three octaves are made of durable nylon and have a brilliant and soft sound. They are made in Paraguay.
The strings of the octaves 1st-3rd of the Magma brand are made of a high quality and durable nylon, with a very brilliant and at the same time warm sound. They are made in Argentina.
The Cristal bass strings consist of a silk thread core that is wrapped with nylon. As a result, the string has a slightly stronger tension compared to the standard strings for the Paraguaian Harp, which produces a sonorous, full and warm sound.
With very old harps, caution is advised when using them because of the increased string tension – Daniela Lorenz will be happy to advise you personally on the subject of the right choice of strings.
Please contact Daniela Lorenz.
Important note: on the Paraguayan Harps, all C strings are BLUE and F strings are RED! The lowest note is a B1 or A1.
Blue F strings and red C strings can be supplied on request. Please contact Dalora-Music.
